It’s just coming to the end of Roma Traveller History Month in the UK…an aimed at celebrating the rich cultures of travelling people and breaking down barriers between them and the settled community. The event I attended last weekend in Cheshire was largely aimed at children, which seems like a great idea. Knowledge of and pride in one’s culture has got to be a positive thing, as long as it doesn’t tip into exclusivism or predudice towards others.
