AN ELDERLY couple were forced out of their Salford home of 40 years to make way for a regeneration project - only to discover the demolition plans had been scrapped.
Pat and Walter Gowenlock were offered just £10,000 for their terrace in Langworthy and given no option but to buy a more expensive property from the council as it developed plans to improve the area.
