passage to Africa

I've been a bit quiet over the past couple of weeks because I've been to Malawi.
I met fantastic people, visited beautiful places and saw some inspiring projects, which I'll write about in due course.
In the meantime, a piece from last week's Big Issue in the North about someone from another troubled African country.
I can't understand how stories like his don't move or outrage the majority of people in this country.
If his work - and that of others like him - here in Britain can't persuade some that all asylum seekers aren't good-for-nothing scroungers, then I don't know what will.
