ahh it’s the small things that please me.
I have a few pictures in a small exhibition in Sandbar, Manchester, from this weekend, along with the rest of my City and Guilds group. We were meant to hang it this afternoon but a communication breakdown meant we have to wait until this weekend. so we spent our time putting in the holes and fixing the mirror plates…I never realised how much dullness goes into putting up some pictures on a wall….sadly I am not a patient person, nor enough of a perfectionist.
aaanyway, it will be nice to see some of my work up in this kind of environment. My triptych are images from a vertical slum I visited while in Mumbai in March, with Action Aid. I think mine is the only work that is really documentary…it’s a pretty diverse group of images so not sure how well they’ll work as a group. still though, exciting in a rather pathetic kind of way…(the corridor picture is also going to be exhibited in London later this month)
It’s going to be up for all of July if anyone in Manchester is at a (very) loose end. I’ll most likely post some more photos from the viewing next week…nothing like a bit of shameless self-promotion
