Anna is a Roma woman from Hungary who was living in Yorkshire when we met, but has since returned home.

She previously spent four years living in Canada – a popular destination for many Hungarian Romani people who hope to secure refugee status.

She uses painting and poetry to discuss difficult issues she has faced through her life, including racism, domestic violence, and has published a book of her work in the hope of inspiring other people, particularly women. You can hear her voice below, talking about some of these experiences.
