Denisa grew up in a Vlach Romani community in a town an hour from Prague. All her siblings were sent to special school, just because they were Roma.

She moved to Britain in 2004 as a single mum to her young son, working in Leicester first as a cleaner and later as a teaching assistant. She managed to get herself into university and into law school. Since we made this work together she has qualified as a solicitor. You can hear Denisa’s words below.
