Documenting the everyday life of Zaneta and her extended Czech Roma family from Middlesbrough, thanks to a Homelands commission from Newcastle’s Amber Collective. I spent around 18 months visiting the family to hang out and make photos and have continued to stay in touch. The resulting work, Stay Where There Are Songs, was exhibited at Side Gallery in 2013 and included reflective captions from Zaneta and other family members.
